History

The Gulden Draak range was created in 1986 as a tribute to the golden dragon of Ghent, perched on the belfry as a symbol of strength and protection. The Cuvée Prestige Scotch Whisky continues that tradition by allowing the beer to mature in authentic Scottish whisky barrels, where craftsmanship and history come together.

For our exceptional Cuvée Prestige, we let Gulden Draak Classic continue to mature in whisky barrels after lagering. After this maturation, the beer undergoes its classic secondary fermentation with our unique house yeast, which ensures a perfect balance.
