After the stunning result of 12 medals at the USA Beer Ratings, Brewery Van Steenberge is once again richly awarded at the World Beer Awards. The diverse range of specialty beers impressed the judges of this prestigious international beer competition and brought no fewer than eight awards to the brewery: 2 x bronze, 3 x silver, 2 x gold and 1 country winner.
We at Van Steenberge Brewery are incredibly proud and honored to have won these eight medals. This shows that the constant pursuit of excellence and the dedication of the brewery and its team are the right ingredients for success.
Fourchette, a full-bodied multigrain tripel with mild bitterness, captured gold within the “Belgian Style Blonde” category. The five regular references within the Golden Dragon family also went home with a medal each. The Golden Dragon Classic and Brewmaster received bronze within their beer classes. Our newcomer, the Gulden Draak Smoked, won second place in the Smoked beers. The Imperial Stout received a silver medal in its category while first place among “Belgian Style Blonde” beers was snatched by the Gulden Draak 9000 Quadruple.
The Pirate beers also impressed the judges. For example, the Pirate Triple Hop received a silver medal within the “Belgian Style Strong” beers. As the ultimate icing on the cake, the classic Pirate secured the country winner Belgium award in the “Belgian Style Strong” class and goes on to compete for Belgian honors at the world finals within this type of beer.
